Welcome to our nonprofit Animal Aide!

This is the Cajun Animal Aide's home page. We are a shelter for unwanted animals and animals that cannot stay at the present home. We are a non-profit and no kill shelter located in Breaux Bridge, LA.

I have a Chocolate Lab  named Mama Hershey. When she first came to me, her name was just Hershey. Early one morning a white work truck pulled into my driveway. I went out to greet them and they had a Chocolate Lab mix in the back. She was awfully skinny and had a hole in her back leg the size of a quarter. The leg was swollen about four times the normal size and the wound was badly infected. I took her in and healed the wound and she started gaining weight fast. Boy, was she pretty!  There was just one problem..she didn't stop gaining weight. She got fatter and fatter and fatter. On April 17th, 2002 she gave birth to eight beautiful puppies. They are now ready for adoption. They have been spayed/neutered and have had all their shots. There are six males and two females.

The puppy to the right is just barely 6 weeks old. At three weeks of age, he was dumped in a ditch full of cold water. He was found and brought to me. He is a sweet little guy, fully weaned and wants a good home. He has had his first set of puppy shots and the Doc said he was in excellent health. Wouldn't you like to take him home?

We would like to give a big thanks to all those who have donated items and money to help the animals.
Also a big thank you to Walmart  and Atlas Feed Store that donate bags and cans of dog/cat food.
Also, I would like to thank Dr. Darryl Dahlquist in Breaux Bridge for helping us take care of the animals that we have in our shelter.
